Club Forum existed in more than one incarnation in the past, but somehow never managed to attract significant content or contributions. I suppose Facebook groups play a big part in it – they have a wide reach and is usually able to raise a near-enough instantaneous response. However, Facebook doesn’t provide the same focus, clarity and ability to facilitate expert review or provide a long term record of information as a well-run Forum can.
All in all, a decision has been made to have one more attempt at reviving the Forum, now closely integrated with our website. BTW, the “well run” bit is essential! As the best value is in the engineering elements of Forum threads, the best person to run it ought to be someone with a more in-depth understanding of technical and engineering issues than I can offer. Hence a plea! I am looking for offers of help in assisting me with looking after the Forum, with the aim of making it an enduring and thriving resource for our Club Members.
In the meantime: as the last attempt concluded in truly large number of non-Club people enrolling, some with dubious intentions, a full clean up has now been completed, and an account for each of registered Club Member has been created. A big announcement about the details is imminent!
